What kind of paint do you use on a guitar?

Can you paint a guitar without sanding?

You basically have to sand it to get a good result. if you painted without sanding it wouldent stick. All you have to do is scuff sand the clear with 220 grit and paint . it wont work, you have to sand at least the clearcoat off before you re- paint , stop being lazy and sand it.
