Can you repaint your guitar?
Yes, you can paint on a guitar . However, it’s not as simple as painting straight onto the existing surface of the guitar because the guitar is already painted and sealed, so these existing layers need to be removed first.
Can you paint a guitar with a brush?
You can apply lacquer, or perhaps other finishes as well, in most any method. It will just require a lot more sanding like you said. I don’t think I would attempt to do color with a brush . Brushing on finish is an unlikely way to get something that looks like a guitar finish.
Does painting guitar change sound?

Paint sprays are comfortable to use and versatile. It is a safe and clean product. The guitar must be perfectly sanded, clean, dry and grease free. If there is any area that we do not want to paint , cover all surfaces with paper and tape.
Can you spray paint guitar pickups?
Satin black will work fine and comes in a spray can . I assume they are exposed pickups with the screw adjusters in them. Don’t paint the adjusters, the paint will probably just wear off and look messy. Just clean them with thinners before masking them off and put plenty of layers of paint on.
Can you paint a guitar with acrylic paint?
If you painted your guitar with acrylics without first prepping the surface (by sanding and priming it), then the acrylics will always be in danger of peeling off, and even varnish isn’t guaranteed to prevent this. You can certainly try though! You could also use Krylon Kamar Varnish or Golden Archival Spray Varnish.

Color Correcting. Paint color affecting tone is what Billy Corgan critics are scratching their heads over. In a guitar , the wood and finish are coupled and since there’s a lot more wood than finish , the wood has greater effect on tone than paint.
